I can hardly put into words how much I loved this maternity session. Mom and Dad to be were so naturally laid back. Mom had an idea of what she wanted in her maternity photos, but was up for anything at the same time!
I think what I love so much is how you can feel in each image how mom and dad are so patiently and peacefully waiting, and feel the love growing and growing for the little baby that they have waited so long for…
This family is absolutely beautiful!
I visited with them at their gorgeous home in Anchorage, Alaska and am a little jealous of their backyard where the session took place! The two grandsons were so cute and cooperative and are going to be great big brothers when baby sister arrives later this summer. I am also lucky enough to get to go back to Alaska in August and spend more time with this family as I photograph the middle son and fiancé’s wedding. I can’t tell you how excited I am!

This beautiful young woman is graduating today as I write this post!
Her mother (whom she looks EXACTLY like,) contacted me for a portrait session to document her before she leaves behind this stage of her life and moves graciously onto the next. I love when clients bring their “fur babies” to their session! Rosie and their new puppy Buddy, were great models and so adorable! We had to reschedule a few times, but it was totally worth the wait to have the beautiful light we found over the lake just before sunset…

Anyone who knows this couple will tell you that they are country ALL the way… So when we talked about locations for their engagement session this place was one of the first to pop into my head. I had been waiting and waiting for the perfect session to use this old green truck. The evening that we went out to take these wasn’t more than 40 degrees and windy. By the end I don’t think any of us could feel our fingers or our noses. Despite the freezing cold,I think it turned out perfect and I can not wait to shoot their wedding in November!
Meet the Fulton Family… Their 6 month old little girl Avery, was just the sweetest and smiliest baby I’ve shot in a while. She loved to stick her cute little tongue out too. I loved the colors mom picked out for Miss Avery’s first outfit. They were so bright and cheerful. Enjoy!
Remember the newborn on the pumpkin I posted in November? He is already getting so big! Mister {A} came to visit me again for his 3 month portraits. Of course he is as cute as ever! I can’t get over his eyes! Just like his big sister, he has the most vibrant blue eyes ever…
Little Miss {L} was so sweet at 13 days new. She was actually one of the first babies born in CO on New Year’s Day! How cool is that? Back to her session… She was wide awake for most of her session and made us (me, mom & dad) work pretty hard. Not to mention she certainly let me know what she poses she did not like by making a mess on the blankets! Her idea of comfy was wrapped up tight in Mommy or Daddy’s arms or cozied up in a basket. Lol. Once we found her comfort zone she was a perfect sleepy angel though. Daddy is a firefighter and they brought some of his gear to use in photos too. I ❤ how the images turned out with Daddy’s helmet. I also made all of the headbands myself specifically for her session and I am so happy with the want hey looked on her.
I hope I get to take many more pictures of this cute little bug as she grows up!
I met this great family for the first time for their holiday session at the begining of December. Mom has style! I walked into their beautifuly decorated home and asked if she would come decorate mine for the holidays too! The 8 week old was such a doll and didn’t make a single peep the whole tim. And big brother was a great helper and quite the ladies man!
I just love the energy and personality these two little boy have! If I could bottle half of their energy I could move mountains… They sure keep their mom on her toes, thats for sure. Summer, you certainly are raising some great boys!
Eeeek! Little Andrew is just too cute for words… He was wide awake and squirmy through the family pictures, but once he was in the spotlight he fell right to sleep and let me work my magic! Knowing Andrew’s mom has a thing for pumpkins, I had a few ideas up my sleeve. Plus, she brought this addorable owl hat, and the football to recreate a picture she saw on Pinterest. I love how they came out!
